How we help

At Raven Collective, we provide comprehensive support and opportunities for the "Women of Raven" who have experienced domestic abuse. Here's an improved version of how we help:

  1. Collaborative Partnerships: We work closely with WRISC Family Violence, and other community partners to identify program applicants. This collaborative approach ensures that we reach and support women who can benefit from our program.

  2. Intake Process: Through a thorough intake process, we assess the participants to understand their needs, skills, and goals. This assessment helps us tailor our program to their specific requirements, ensuring they receive the support they need to thrive.

  3. Ten-Week Program: The "Women of Raven" trainees are welcomed into our ten-week program, where they gain practical work experience in a distribution setting by packing gift-box orders. This hands-on experience not only provides them with valuable skills but also boosts their confidence and work readiness.

  4. Readiness-to-Work Component: In addition to practical work experience, we facilitate a readiness-to-work component in collaboration with Ballarat Neighbourhood Centre. This component focuses on developing essential skills and readiness for future employment or further education.

  5. Social and Emotional Support: We understand the importance of social and emotional support in the healing and growth process. That's why we provide access to a dedicated Social Worker and a range of professionals and guest speakers who share their skills and knowledge with the trainees throughout their journey. This support system helps them navigate challenges, build resilience, and develop a strong foundation for a brighter future.

  6. Partnership with Job Local Providers: Raven Collective partners with a range of Job Local providers who specialize in assisting individuals in finding appropriate ongoing employment or further education opportunities. We work together to plan for the trainees' future, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to access fulfilling and rewarding outcomes.

At Raven Collective, our commitment extends beyond the ten-week program. We strive to empower the "Women of Raven" with the tools they need to pursue long-term success and personal fulfilment. By offering practical work experience, readiness-to-work training, social and emotional support, and partnerships for ongoing opportunities, we aim to break the cycle of domestic abuse and create pathways to a brighter future.

Together with our community partners and dedicated professionals, we support the "Women of Raven" in their journey toward self-sufficiency, personal growth, and a life of fulfilment.
